Miami DWNTWN Art Days Return

Art Days returns for it’s Fourth Annual DWNTWN Art Days featuring tons of special events and programs for all ages.

Art Days is the collaboration between the Miami Downtown Development Authority (Miami DDA) and the cultural spaces and artists residing in Downtown Miami. Together, they’ve put together a whole weekend full of events ensuring there’s something for everyone. Some of the events this weekend include exhibitions, artist projects, walking tours, art parties, family programming, and  more that will take place across a multitude of cultural venues throughout Downtown Miami.

Some of the venues getting involved this year include the Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts, the Intercontinental Miami, The Opera Atelier at McCormick Place, The Artisan Lounge, Patricia & Philip Frost Museum of Science, Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM)Downtown Miami Main Library AuditoriumDWNTWN Art House at Miami WorldcenterFreedom Tower at Miami Dade College, and more. 

To get you excited, here’s a list of some of the events taking place this weekend.

Friday, September 11th-
Bleeding Palm Exhibit at the InterContinental Miami:
From 12:01am – 11:59pm.  Footage from the cutting room floor of the Sundance award-winning animated film, “A Sun Like A Big Dark Animal,” by Bleeding Palm.

Miami Art Days at Miami Children’s Museum
From 10am – 6:00pm. Miami Children’s Museum (MCM) inspires children to learn about themselves and the culturally diverse community in which we live through the arts and interactive exhibits. MCM offers 14 hands-on exhibits related to the visual arts, music, culture and community and arts-based programming daily. (Event just for kids)

ARTchitecture & Downtown Miami History Walk
From 4:00pm – 5:30pm. Join a guided walking tour of downtown Miami and learn about the area’s first pioneers to modern times.View art and architecture along the way to an archaeological site. Please RSVP by email: citytours@historymiami.org

Saturday, September 12th-
GIANTS IN THE CITY at Bayfront Park
From 10:00am – 6:00pm. Walk along exhibitions through Bayfront Park. These are free and open to the public designed to embrace creative artistic activities.

ART SOLUTIONS Where Art Meets Business at Mind Warehouse
From 11:00am – 8:00pm. Exhibition of Latin American artists -paint, photography sculptures and installations at MindWarehouse

FREE Food Tastings @ the Arsht!
From 10:00am – 5:00pm. Enjoy light delectable treats from the Arsht Center’s two on-campus eateries, The Café at Books & Books and BRAVA!

Sunday, September 13th-
Celebrate Diversity Miami’s 2015 Photo-voice Exhibit at the DWNTWN Arts Fair
From 12:00pm – 8:00pm. The 2015 Photo-voice Exhibit features 60 beautiful, vibrant images submitted by residents, schools, and organizations from across Miami-Dade County. So join us in celebrating our incredible culturally and ethnically diverse communities! Give a #DiversityMiami shout-out with a picture or postcard, and share what makes the place you call home awesome.

Under the Bridge Downtown at McCormick Place
From 12:00pm – 5:00pm. McCormick Place’s Under the Bridge Downtown, the 4th Annual Art Days celebration, will debut a brand-new façade, featuring panoramic exterior murals, a sculpture garden, a newly curated art gallery, fine art studios, and a human performance facility. Kicking off the celebration Friday at 6:30pm, there will be food, drinks, DJ’s, and The Opera Atelier.
