Sometimes you just need to escape to get away from it all, especially living Miami with such a busy lifestyle, even the shortest trip can give you the quick refresh that you seek. That’s exactly what I did when I traveled up Palm Beach for a perfect day-cation at the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa with my son, his best friend and boyfriend in tow.
The drive was not bad at all, a quick hour and 45-minutes for a day of complete tranquility and relaxation. When we arrived we checked-in with the friendly staff and made our way to the drop off the kids at the Kids Club. At the Kids Club, they offer daily activities that are customized to ages and interests. Kids can choose from crafts, sports, and seasonal adventures from sand art and hair braiding to water balloon games, treasure digs and sea shell expeditions. A perfect way to stay busy while the parents enjoy some time alone at Si Spa or lunch at 3800 Ocean, the oceanfront restaurant. Sessions are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, with Parent’s Night Out on Fridays and Saturdays, 6 to 10 p.m., that includes dinner ($45).
It was such a beautiful day outside that sitting on the patio was a must and with a view of the ocean, what more could I ask for. One of my favorite things, their extensive (and I mean EXTENSIVE) wine list and cocktail selection! 3800 Ocean features American regional cuisine such as Fried Chicken Wings, Burrata and Prosciutto di Parma, Grilled or blackened catch of the day, Flatbreads, Crab Cakes and so much more. The menu offers a variety of items to satisfy any craving.
I started the with the Colossal Shrimp Cocktail served with Tomato Gazpacho, Lump Crab Salad and Horseradish while my other half chose the Pan Roasted Little Neck Clams served with Italian sausage, roasted garlic, torn basil in a fresh tomato sauce. What can I say, the gazpacho was bright, full of flavor, and perfect for a hot summer day, as for the Little Neck Clams, you could taste the freshness in each bite and with the addition of the Italian sausage you had a little spicy kick. Following our appetizers and sangria we stayed in theme of fresh seafood with the honey brushed salmon fillet served over quinoa-wild rice with a grilled fennel-pea tendril salad.
After lunch it was time to enjoy the amenities the resort has to offer. There’s something for everyone no matter what age. We headed over to the beach and joined the kids in a beach side scavenger hunt using metal detectors to find pre-hidden treasures buried in the sand before going ocean side to lounge on one of the resorts umbrella covered lounge chairs. From there, it was time to cool off and we made our way to one of the two pools on the property, the Lagoon Pool featuring a three-story waterslide for the kiddies (and the adults) is a great place to play for families. Also for the family, on Friday nights at 8 p.m. a Dive-In Movie is shown at the Lagoon Pool on the resort’s big screen.
The Infinity Pool, beautiful serene pool that overlooks the ocean and has a laid back ambiance for soaking up the sun. Here adults can relax, enjoy soft music, admire the view, while taking a break from the hustle and bustle of life. Here you can order food and drink cocktails on the lounge chairs, or rent out one of the pool side cabanas for added comfort.
In addition to the outside amenities the resort has a luxurious spa to rejuvenate anyone. Si Spa offers eight treatment rooms, steam room, private outdoor Jacuzzi and signature showers along with a heated marble beds and relaxation area with hot tea bar, antioxidant water and fruit selection. Si Spa offers Waxing, massage therapies, nail therapies, body therapies and facial therapies including the newly added Hydrafacial. Pamper yourself all day long and let your cares slowly drift away.
The resort has it all, and if you and your family stay for a night or two, their condo-style rooms are perfect! The rooms feature a full kitchen, separate dining, living, and sleeping areas, along with in-suite washer/dryer units. The rooms luxurious and offer high-end finishes like marble bathrooms, flat-screen TV’s and Bose stereos. Depending on the size of your family you can book a one or two bedroom condo with views of the beach or the coast.
With all the amenities and amazing features the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort and Spa has to offer, its a perfect destination for families and friends alike. You have the beach, two beautiful pools, a spa, great dining and loads of entertainment along with an amazing views of the coast located right on the ocean.
